At Austin Practical Shooting Club (APSC), we’re a friendly group of shooting enthusiasts running a non-profit club powered by passionate volunteers. Our community is all about welcoming and supporting each other. We host matches throughout the year at our home range in Manor, Texas. Don’t worry if you’re not a member of the range or APSC. Sign up and join in the fun! To get started, you’ll need some basic gear, and it’s important to familiarize yourself with our safety rules and procedures before jumping into a match. But fear not, we’re here to help you every step of the way!
Tips for First-Time Participants
Hey there, new shooter! Get ready for an exciting experience. Before your first match, we’ll have a “New Shooters Meeting” at 9:10 AM, where one of our friendly APSC staff will bring all the newcomers together. This is where we’ll go over safety procedures and answer any questions you might have. When you join your squad at your first stage, don’t forget to let your Range Officer (RO) know you’re new to this. They’ll ensure you’re not first up to shoot, so you can watch and learn from others before it’s your turn.
After you’ve gone through all the info on our website and asked any questions, we’re confident you’ll have a great time at your first match. Sure, you might feel a bit nervous when you hear “Are you ready?”… “Standby”… “BEEEP” for the first time – but that’s all part of the fun!
