Registration Tips

Open Division Shooter

Registration for all matches is on Practiscore. If it is your first time coming out to a practical pistol match, welcome! Here are some tips to help you with registration.

  1. First Name
  2. Last Name
  3. Email
  4. Member Number
This is your USPSA or SCSA member if you have one. Enter only the letters and numbers, no dashes. If you are not a member, then leave this blank.
  5. Austin Rifle Club Member
If you are a member of ARC, then select yes. This helps our registration crew know which waiver to have you sign. If you are interested in joining ARC, read these steps.
  6. Division
Select the division that your gun and gear adhere to. You can get a low down on the rules for the matches we shoot at the following locations.
    USPSA here
    SCSA here
    Hit Factor here
  7. Power Factor
Major – Do not select if you are shooting Production, Carry Optics, PCC, or Limited Optics. It is optional for the other divisions if your caliber and ammunition meet the minimum power factor as outlined in the above rulesets.
Minor – Select if you are shooting Production, Carry Optics, PCC, or Limited Optics. Optional in other divisions per the above rulesets.
  8. Class
When signing up, pick the classification for the division you’re shooting in, just like it’s listed under your USPSA account on the Classification page of the USPSA website. New shooters, if you haven’t shot enough to get your initial classification, no worries – just select ‘U’ for Unclassified.

  10. Have prior match experience?
Do you know your stuff about the practical shooting basics? This includes understanding range commands, staying within the 180-degree safety rule, keeping your finger off the trigger when not shooting, avoiding pointing the gun at yourself or others, following safe table procedures, and what it means to be on a cold range.
